Re: Panchoek's build thread
thanks I forgot to post of the event the next day, they left the slalom at the beginning which I knew I would hit the limiter because of the previous day, it was a great course, it didn't fit my gearing on my car but still a decent run
I would highly recommend them, they are one of my favorite wheels, they look awesome with the concave look, and the fact the they are lightweight and their reliable construction is a plus
picture from this past weekend, notice the wobbled cone!

Re: Panchoek's build thread
Thanks, only wish I would have done it earlier
so everytime I finish a run I pop my hood and notice that the heat coming out of the bay and radiator fan going full blast. Temperature around here right now is about 80 degrees, with summer around the corner I need to find a way to cool the bay down. this is where I need your opinions, I had seen this on ebay for 35 shipped and said why not, well they're here now and they are a bit smaller than I thought so not sure if I should go ahead and put them on to let some hot air out
location 1
location 2
another option was ksr vent, beside the price ($200 shipped) its a little too big and considering I daily my car it probably wouldn't be that great in the rain but just wanted to put it out there also
its a big piece, uses about half of the middle part
let me know what you guys think

No local events this past weekend, so I made the 3 hours trip down to Kansas City. Ended up getting 7th in raw time out of 130 drivers

Re: Panchoek's build thread
get a vented carbon fiber hood, allows heat to dissipate from the bay. Also carbon fiber wont retain heat like a oem metal hood would, not to mention ~10-15lb weight reduction.... win-win-win.

damn never knew this was you until i saw the iowa plates. Its randy. car is setup pretty well. I second the carbon fiber hood comment.
By the way, did you see all the DNF's i had that day at the adventureland autox. kept hitting **** left and right.

Re: Panchoek's build thread
so it was a big racing weekend.. I'll start off with today, right after an autocross event on Saturday I headed home and put my stock suspension on the front and put my snow tires for a rallycross day, it was a wet one and here's some pictures of the aftermath.. finished 2nd overall
here's the video of my first and best run, as you can imagine, the more runs and more cars on the course the more mud started to come up, so times got slower as the day went on

Re: Panchoek's build thread
ok now for Saturday, it was a bitter sweet day.. after 6 months of waiting, NQS Performance hosted the 1st event of year. This is a little bit different than autocross because they don't have cones, it used to be an old go-kart track. You start out by doing a "warm up lap", which the timing start way later than where you began and then you do 2 full timed laps. Well back when I had my d16y7 and hankook c71 slicks last fall I had a time of 1:22.44, well I was super excited to see what it would do with my wider hoosier tires on the front and with the b20b swap. first a couple times out got 1:19.xx both times out which are good times and that was my goal for the year, but i knew it still had a bit more in it and really pushed it yard on my 3rd time, ended up with a 1:18.46, which is a really quick time. Now comes the bitter part, while going to hard on the corners and the fact that I've had about 30 runs in it with 3 degrees camber, it took its toll. Now I'm done a tire and since I can't afford tires this ofter ill probably go back to my old 205/50 hankooks for a while
heres the video
while i was fixing my self in the seat my front left tire went into the grass causing my to spin out, luckily my time hadn't started yet

Re: Panchoek's build thread
After taking the whole front end apart to get to the mud it's finally clean. today's autocross wasn't set up to well for my car's gearing, as you might hear in the video, I hit the rev limiter and have to shift a few times. Finished 9th in raw time, that's with my older 205/50 Hankooks on the front since I toasted my Hoosier's.
My fastest run 62.235

Re: Panchoek's build thread
there was an autocross event today but decided to skip out on it and try and finish up some things on the civic.. if you go back to the previous pages you saw that I was doing a splitter, well I finally had time to continue on it.. I got the overall final shape done on it, just have to round out the edges a bit and buy some aluminum sheet and cover up the gap.. I have also had a pair of CTR alex brackets for about a year and finally put them on with the addition of the splitter..
some before, stock CTR Wing
with alex brackets
I ordered some splitter rods from fully torqued racing, hopefully I get them later this week, now for the splitter
I love the way it looks with CTR wing w/ brackets
I just hope that its not too low and breaks the first time im out of the garage

Re: Panchoek's build thread
double header this weekend but decided to go only to today's (Saturday) event. I get to the event and forgot about my gopro so no footage today, its the same track where I corded my hoosier tire, time of 1:18.46, well today on 205/50 hankooks I went 1:19.00, half second slower with not as good tires, so im think that the raised wing and front splitter are doing its job, next event there is August 1 and I should be on hoosiers so we'll see how I do..
here's some pics of today, couldn't get my air dam done on time so I just taped up all the open space between the lip and splitter blade, I also got some fully torqued racing splitter rods. they look great!

I drive there alone, not many people track their honda's, but there's always the regular people that I talk to once I'm there that also track their cars

Re: Panchoek's build thread
last week was sort of a rain weekend so I took out the subie autocrossing instead of the civic
2011 Subaru WRX, invidia downpipe, perrin exhaust, and tune
after a long week, finally took out the civic, I also got the airdam done but it probably going to end up doing it again
finished 2nd in raw time, would have been first but they counted a cone against me after I crossed the finish line,
some pretty nice cars out also, a couple of ACR Dodge Vipers and a lotus exige
