well yesterday i removed my engine bay harness started tearing it apart to use a couple plugs from it for my new to me harness from my old dx. thankfully it is WAY less chopped up, only needed a new coolant temp sensor from the wires braking from a bad dizzy.

mmmmmmmm i'm kind of tossing around the idea of a high compression a6 mini me... with a super charger... i mean, people boost stock b16's and b18's, which have higher compression... and my block will be built... and 12:1 isn't THAT high is it? lol

Maybe if you would doing aound 10.5 or so it would be safe Ryan, but as far as I know, B series have STRONGER bottom ends than D series.

It's been done, but i would go no higher than 10.5:1 compression for a supercharger on stock rods and such.

i figured that, for 12:1 i wasn't going to use stock rods any ways, i dont want to be like my buddy nick where three weeks after he built his swap the teeny tiny lawn mower rod decided to take a detour through the side of his block. would using stock honda pistons be a bad thing?

^NPR still doesnt have too high of QC really. The DSM that my friend has that I was working on, we got OEM pistons from NPR. wrist pin bores were slightly too small so the pin wouldnt fit, and then the top of the piston had a chunk of aluminum just chillin on one of them lol

So Ryan, did the new Harness work out for ya? oh and ill bring the stuff back tomorrow for ya. Ill be home after work tomorrow anyways

ok i guess. i traded my severely retarded ignition timing for reverse lights and a non existent idle and a hard to start condition. from what i've read it might be my IACV. it sucks. it's INSANELY hard to start my car unless i pump my gas pedal, kind of chokes to life. it also idles too low, like at 400 rpms once warmed up, and randomly will jump up and down by about 400 rpms, which kills if it is idling, like when i'm coasting to a stop. but i was able to set my ignition timing, and now there's no boggy retarded ignition stuff going on

*SIGH* if it isn't one thing, it's another...

argh so i cleaned my IACV... and the idle problem got worse... i just bought a new cap and rotor, and filled my tank with plus from texaco, and as soon as it warmed up every time i pushed the clutch in and let off the gas it would die.

mmmmmmmm well since i'm not feeling that tired, and i'm currently bumping the newest Tech N9ne cd, K.O.D., i thought i'd post up some more future plans

firstly, and probably the most hard,
i'm going to get a complete body harness from an lx or ex sedan and i'm going to work with it to make it work in my hatch. I'm going to do this so i can utilize factory cruise control, and factory power windows. i've been reading up on how to install sedan power windows in a hatch, and it's something i feel i can accomplish. also, if i can incorporate factory door locks into my car, well all the better.

i'm thinking of switching over to a 90-91 style dash harness and cluster cover so i can see my cluster better. i also think that the rounded cluster covers look cleaner. that will also allow me to someday use the legit jdm ek ctr cluster that i have.

as far as updates go i still haven't figured out what is wrong with my idle thing. going to look over my wiring tomorrow maybe. my buddy Ryan is comming into town tomorrow from nevada for the weekend, and I promised him I'd help fix his system since some girl broke his rca's. I picked up my old skunk2 test pipe from apekd, as well as some gsr rear calipers.

well today i replaced my iacv, ran another run of four gauge from my alternator to my shock tower, replaced my splice connectors with solder and heat shrink on my map sensor extension, and replaced my battery ground to no avail. still stalls out when i put it in neutral, still runs rich, and still hard starts. i'm about to just go buy a virgin body harness and start fresh. this is hella frustrating. oh yeah, and it's only running at 12 volts, not 14

yeah that whole cd is TIGHT.

so today i'm going to replace my test pipe with my skunk 2 one and i'm going to replace my alternator as well, since replacing my iacv didn't do any thing. it was weird, when i tested my car's spark it was yellow, i thought it was supposed to be blue? wierd. going to replace my alternator as well with another one i have laying around. maybe that will fix the problem. i've gone 18 miles and have burned through an 8th of a tank of gas. that's worse mpg than my van gets

my idea btw. I never saw it on another persons till after I did it at least.

Ryan, see if the Alt was the problem for the shitty idle and go form there. the IACV is the problem a lot of the time, but not 100%.

dunno what the problem is, still is running rich and hardstarting. since i now have a job and NEVER drive this thing any more, there's a 99% chance that i will be gutting this and removing all wiring from the front half of the car, along with engine and trans.

if i do that the next time it will run is when it has a nice rebuilt a6 z6 high compression mini me under the hood.

well it still chokes out and dies, my voltage gauge that i installed now says that i'm running at like 13 or so volts, so idk what's up. does it make a difference if i use a harness from a civic that was made in Canada in a civic that was made in Japan?
