My 88 std hatch
WHEW!! well today i spent a good eight hours swapping out my 4spd and installing my si tranny. a good hour and a half was spend ****ing driving around looking for a stupid clutch alignment tool. apparently no one sells a 20 spline tool, just the 21 
while i was at it i also installed the prothane shifter bushings and motor mounts i got from apekd. going for a test drive now

They are FAWKING crazy man! Those mounts are SUPER hard. If I kept the civic I would have NEVER gotten them cause of how hard to are. Makes the car shake like a B16 with solid aluminum mounts. Go get some syncromesh, swap the pressure plates, and see if that noise is still there and if it grinds a bit in high RPMS in 3rd.
man my car pulls! vibrates like hell cuz of the motor mounts, but i kind of like it. just gotta turn up the beats a little bit. making a weird noise tho. starts when i shift into second and lasts through fifth after sitting, and then makes it again once going. i fixed an exhaust leak (sort of) and my exhaust sounds nice and deep, no more raspyness... weird.

on a side note swapping headgaskets COMPLETELY eliminated all smoke from my exhaust, as far as i can tell. then again, i've only driven it at night

mmmmmmmmmm just did a bunch of "research" on brake upgrades. found out that a certain acura vehicle came from the factory with twin piston calipers, and i also learned what i need to properly install 10.3" rear discs on my hubs from the factory.
so in other words, i now know exactly what i need to buy and modify to perform a full big brake upgrade front and rear on my car. not sure when it will happen, but eventually i will be rocking 11.1" front brakes, and 10.3" rear brakes with an itr 1" mc and brake booster combo. my ****'s going to stop literally on a dime

mmmmmmmm just got done helping my buddy steven with his 91 std. his 88 dx tranny blew up, so we got our hands on a 91 dx with a clutch, and tossed that bad boy in. one refurbished axle later and bam his car is back up and running again. i think something might be wrong with my car tho... cuz his pulls just as hard as mine... yet mines supposed to be lighter...

today, with the help of apekd, i replaced my pilot bearing, pressure plate and installed an ebay 4-2-1 header. made my car sound a bit raspy, but then again, that could be because my exhaust doesn't fit propperly and it's stretched to fit. aka when just hanging there's about a 1" gap between my test pipe and my header. oh well, when i get a car installed i'll have the exhaust shop fix that ish. going to get my ignition timing set tomorrow. right now my car bogs from idle to about 2500 rpms then just TAKES OFF. it sucks cuz i either rev it too high and then end up spinning my tires or i have to VERY gently slip the clutch. which doesn't work so well when having to go from a stop while going up hill. also i'm going to be swapping to an electronic vss for sure tomorrow, too much of a hassle with the ghetto **** i made up with my cable vss to make my teg cluster's speedo work properly. plus i think i broke my speedo cable today.

mmmmmmmmm smashed around a little bit in it today. either i'm getting used to the noise it makes, or the noise is going away... but ***** fast!!! lol i can't wait for my high compression a6 to be done tho.
ugh well i think i'm going to mini me/convert to obd1 tomorrow. thing is still not running correctly, runs rich and bogs a bit in well any gear untill about 2500-3000 rpms depending on what gear it is in. idk maybe i'm just missing something, but my buddy's car seems to work and not run rich just fine and he's still dpfi. so grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
guess i can post this now as ever.
swapped decks between my civic and my van. van now has the 4+ year old alpine, which makes the van sound better. civic has the nice new kenwood that never worked right in the van. sounds GOOD. plus i have like every feature available on the kenwood.
then got pissed at the car cuz it still isn't throwing any codes, and still is running rich and getting like 19mpg, and is still bogging until like 2500 rpms. tried swapping ecus with another pm6 and ps9 i have laying around, didn't notice a difference in either boggyness or fuel consumption (exhaust still stinks like gas). also got mad because i WISH i could tear it all down this winter and build it right, but because there's the possibility of a 30 day notice chillin over my fam's heads i don't want to start any more projects until we have a guaranteed place to stay. damn landlord going into foreclosure.

my buddies car bogged too and we got a new dizzy and it was fixed maybe its your dizzy? and for your bad gas mileage check your o2 sensor maybe you need a new one and also if you have a catalytic converter you might have to replace that.
huh dizzy eh? that could deff. be an issue, the one i have is used... but newer... my o2 sensor has a whopping 400 miles on it, and i don't have a cat, so i think i can rule those two things out... that's why it's so weird
started getting better with the optional/ oem upgrades towards the middle, then the subs and amps ruined the trunk, to each there own but the car would be worlds faster without all that crap in there. just my opinion, otherwise youve come along way. congrats
i took out my subs and it was faster. i just like beats. i'm working on a box for one sub. the speaker amp stays regardless, because the speakers sound like *** w/o them.

He had a sub box bigger than some tool boxes and I was just making a statement seeing as after I read his entire build thread and gave him credit for it he seemed like he was craving for more power. with such a small powerplant with essentially just bolt ons the easiest thing I saw was removing the woofers to get a little quicker. yeah i know my subs weigh as much as a small dirt bike, it was the only box i had tho. someday i'm going to have a custom box made out of the spare tire well, which will give me the trunk space i want with the beats i want, but with out making as much weight. my95dc2, thank you for your comments and props, and yes, thank you for disliking things on my car as well. it helps me make my car that much better

in other news i drove it around today a bit, then tonight i took my bra off for the winter. i don't want it getting any more messed up than it currently is.

blah drove it around last night, burned hella gas, bottomed out a couple times on dips in the road that jumped out of no where. going to go mess with timing right now, if i can get it right perhaps it will run correctly. new job!!! yay me!! going to go mess with my timing now
