Default Problems with the 1st gear

My car just reached 80k miles on it and its been driving fine , but recently getting to first gear has been a problem. I drive at like 40mph and as i see a stop sign i slow down, at about 15mph or less i clutch in as a brake also shifting it to 1st gear, but as i shift to first gear it hits something (like its blocking it) and like 4-7 secs later it goes into 1st gear.

Normally shifting to first while i roll isn't a problem but for some reason theres like something blocking it now. ITs really annoying since everytime i shift to first its blocked for a few secs.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem.

Wait til you are around 10mph, hold down the clutch, start shifting into 1st but don't force it. As the car slows down more the shifter will slide into 1st like butter. You shouldn't be shifting into 1st from a roll anyway unless you rev match or double clutch. It's a huge stress on the 1st gear synchro if you don't do so and you can risk breaking your shift fork if you try to force it in.

Don't force it into 1st! .... throw it into 2nd. You don't want to mess up your synchro now do you??

you shouldnt be puttin it in first trying to stop.. if you force it in you could snap your shifter forks... then you will have no first gear..

but thats not the only problem. When I am at a full stop theres still a block. But if i hold the clutch down for like 3 secs or so its very EZ. Its just the delay in the shifting that is kind of irritating
