Default 2nd Gear Issues

First off the details:

S80 ITR transmision in a DC chassis
CC six puck clutch

Problem:

Can't downshift into second gear unless stopped (or like less than ~3mph)
Upshifting from 1st to 2nd there are no problems whatsoever, even at 9k RPM
High RPM upshifting from 2nd to 3rd it feels like it doesn't want to release from 2nd gear. Also sometimes it feels like when I push in the clutch (while in 2nd only), it doesnt release and I have to move the shift lever in order to disengage the clutch and all is fine again.

So, I am admitting that I may have not lubed up the mainshaft splines when I did the clutch last year. That is what I am hoping is the cause to one/some of the problems.

Otherwise, what are other potential culprits? Synchros?

I have no problems tearing into the transmission. I have already replaced the 4th gear set, and I have swapped out a mainshaft and ring gear in a K-series transmission.

Thanks!

When did the problem start? How much have you driven it since you replace the clutch? Was the flywheel replaced or resurface properly when the clutch was replaced?

Does rev matching allow you to downshift into 2nd?

Can you better describe it not feeling like it doesn't want to release from 2nd gear?

I haven't driven the car much until recently (especially spiritedly), so I can't pinpoint when the symptoms started.

When I replaced the clutch, I did a new flywheel too.

Rev matching does help going into second gear, but not as easily as the rest of the gears. This never used to be a problem at all.

Sometimes it takes a bit of force to physically push the gear selector out of 2nd, especially from higher revs. Even with the clutch pressed in. The best thing I could compare it to is trying to go from any gear into neutral w/o pressing the clutch in.

Did you properly bleed the clutch and adjust the pedal? Master and slave cylinders good?
