Default Question on which gauge to get.

I have a 96 GSR. Do i need an electrical or mechanical oil press. gauge? If it doesn't make a difference then which is better or easier to install? Thanks.

I like mechanical personally, but for a mechanical guage, you will have to run an oil line to the guage as opposed to running the oil line to a little box and then wires from the box to the guage. I've never had electric oil pressure guage, but i'd think the mechanical would be more accurate... maybe?

Thanks for the info man. I don't want to buy the electric one and don't have an electrical hookup for it. Dammit. Anyone know?

if you got the electric one you would need to buy the unit that would connect to your oil line and the guage. The electrical guage doesn't tap into any factory wiring.

So does the mechanical gauge have a phat oil line running into the cabin area ready to burst and spray your face w/ magma hot oil? Or is it a nice small hydro line?

it's a real small line... my friend's looks just like a ss braided NOS line. I've got a small brass (i think...) tubing that runs to the guage. As long as you install it right, you'll have no worries about it busting.
