Default PLEASE HELP WITH IDLE PROBLEM!!!

Okay i have a idle problem. My car idles at 1500-1800 constant. It does NOT go up or down. So I went to a shop today and they said it might be my FAST IDLE THERMAL VALVE they said it is located under or near throttle body. I didnt know what they were talking about and they said I can get one from dealership... Does anyone know what part this is and if u all know how much it cost?

Fast idle can be caused from a lot of things. Issues with the ECU or sensors.
Yeah there is a fast idle sensor attached to the bottom of the TB which coolant runs through. Take it apart and see if the plastic piece inside has unscrewed itself. I had this problem before. If not also check for vacuum leaks.

Take off the TB, the fast idle sensor is attached to the bottom of the TB. Look for the plastic piece inside the fast idle sensor.

you dont need to take your TB off to check it...i had to replace mine...there are three bolts holding it in, if you can get those out then your good to go...but there is a coolant in it so make sure you car is cooled off etc.

also, the way to check if it is your FITV is to take your intake off and turn your car on and let it get to normal operating temp. after its at normal operating temp, you'll see a little whole inside the throttle body...put your finger over it and if your car goes back to normal idle then thats your problem...if not, its something else...

also, i paid about $70 for my new one from the dealer...

Yes, very good point.
Sorry I took off mine cause those three bolts are hard to get to, but yes, you can just take off those three bolts and you're good.
