Icon2 need vtec help

Hey guys i im new to this. I have a 93 ej1 civic with a 94 gsr swap. Vtec isnt wantin to work. Its all wired right. I wired the solenoid separate and it clicks. I drove it and hit the switch and still nothing. Can anyone shed light on this. My oil is good, no leaks, i just dont know qhat could be wrong. Im throwing an o2 code but that shouldnt matter. I cleared it and still nothing. Any help is appreciated.

um you really should get an ECU that will run that engine properly instead of hacking it with a manual switch. I'm pretty sure the ECU changes fuel maps based on whether VTEC is engaged, or if the IAB butterflies are open (and also VTEC engaged). Are you running the stock dual-runner GSR intake manifold?

Never hack an ECU... Vtec will not work if the imput numbers from the ecu are not correct. For instance if the ecu reads that the coolant temp is too low for vtec changeover then it will not allow Vtec to engage. If the computer does not see that you turned on Vtec with a "switch" then it will not alter the fuel mapping to compensate for Vtec. Hopefully i'm making a bit of since over here

hack job=no good

vtec has a seperate fuel map, and the gsr has dual intake runners (which really contributes the most to that tone change) otherwise youre running a big cam, on **** fuel maps. it wont make **** for power that way.
