Need Help!
Hey, I'm considering purchasing a Local Integ from a dealer, but I'm not sure if I should for the parts I want to put into it. Its a 1995 Integ GSR with 96k miles on it. it's selling for 6 grand. I have about 13 to spend total, but I for sure want go fo FI of some sort. I'm still debating on the three Greddy, DRAG, or the infamous JRSC. I was wondering, If I had a full service and Tune-up on the engine, would it possibly be safe to run boost on? as of right now i'm not certain on the state of the engine, i'm going to go look at the car tomorrow after school... btw i would only be running minimal boost of about 6 psi. and no i'm not going to go crazy and up the boost becase i'm not into racing all that much, I just want a car with some extra acceleration and speed. lemme know what you think...
That's difficult to answer w/o examining the car. Have a compression test performed on the engine and base your decision on that. 96k miles may have worn the engine a bit too much to reliably run boost for very long. If you just want a bit more kick in the seat then I'd go with the JRSC, it's really not a bad choice if you're absolutely certain you won't want alot more power down the road.
not really sure what your asking...
If you are asking about the condition of the car and its readiness to handle boost, you best direct this inquiry to someone who's standing infront of the car and adept to checking out the condition of your engine. do a compression test first and see how it goes.

Get the compression checked on the car. Readings should be around the 210-220 range. 190-200 is the lowest reading you want to be at if you're planning to boost. Get the whole car inspected...tranny, axles, look for rust under the car, and look for leaks. The greddy kit is generally more "bolt-on" than the drag kit. JRSC is cool as well but wouldn't you rather hear blow off? Turbo is easier to sell when you're done with it too. I would go greddy, drag, then JRSC.
