Hi everyone.....
I think this is my first post here....

Well here is my problem. Whenever I start my car my RPM's hit 2000 then for a bit it will fluxuate and go down slowly until the engine is warmed up. Could the problem be with a sensor?

Oh I forgot the mention that it is a Automatic 97 GS
and it only happens when I am in park waiting for it to warm up

 

sounds like your fitv - are you gettin any codes?

 

that's normal, as long as it goes to normal idle rpm when it is warmed up.

 

when you first turn on your car, your idle is higher to warm up the motor, then slowly it starts to drop...no worries

oh yeah - ive had my fitv out so long i forgot how nice it was not having to hold the gas pedal down to warm it up

 

Seems normal to me. I have a 96 GSR manual. Same thing with me. 2k will go down to 900rpms after warmed.

i had this problem and i brought it to a shop. It was my tps i think? Anyways after i brought it in my idle is at 1.5k when warming up and 8 - 900 when warmed.
