how should i go about this? im a new driver and i wanna get my launching down cuz i raced a sentra [old skewl one] and i lost by like 2 car leads...[pretty horrible] my friend was riding with me and said jus rev it to 4k and dump the clutch and gun it at da same time? is this rite? cuz i got madd pealage til i hit rev limiter! so i shifted to second way to fast and i bogged the car...i shoudl have done better but... i ef'ed up my launch and second!

 

Try and find a place where you can practice your launches. You want to find the highest RPM you can launch at with out excessive wheelspin.

 

If u ran a SE-R then you're in trouble...that car has some ***** and can keep up with gsrsers stock!

 

My friend did that exact same thing!!! You had the right idea, but after you dump the clutch and the wheels start to spin, dont let it hit redline, let the gas out a little and keep it at around 5k until it hooks up good, then floor it.

That will usually get good launches.
