Re: gsr swap !!!
Only downside to buying a swap off the street, is the fact that the buyer Isnt sure on the exact condition of the motor and isnt guarenteed that it is going to be the cleanest running gsr he/she could buy. When you buy an engine from a jdm importer you pretty much know your going to get a good engine. Off the street its most likely been abused and theres a reason the seller is selling it. (not 100% of the time, but you never know) If its a complete swap transmission and all I'd say 800-1500 or so.. give or take depending on the condition of the motor from what you can see on the outside. Maybe more maybe less.. How much are you asking for it?

Re: gsr swap !!!
eh..for a full GSR swap with either the B16 or GSR trans, I'd figure like 1500-2k. If the compression is all good and nothing's broken/everything's complete.

The only time I will buy a motor off the street is when the motor is in the car where you can test drive and also have a compression test done. Also get a receipt or proof of purchase along with vin numbers if applicable. Or best to buy one that is high mileage and cheap so you can just rebuild it.

the other option is from a crashed car, that way you can see how many miles are on the motor

Exactly. For example, I have a wrecked DC in my sig. It's crashed but with a running motor for people to come by and start that sucker up.
