Gears stuck
Lately, sometimes when I start in first, my car feels like it is about to stall no matter how much gas I give it. The other night, I was leaving my friends house and when I came up to a stop sign, I couldn't put it in to gear, I went through every gear and it wouldn't budge. Finally about five min. later, it loosened up. I didn't drive it more than a few miles or a couple of days. Today, however, it started to tighten up again and was harder to put in gear. What do you think is the problem. Thanks for any input.
It might help to change the tranny fluid out. I've heard that GM Syncromesh is the best, but many other people like Honda MTF. The problem might be in your synchros? Bump for some more info.
my oem clutch disinegrated...metal shards would get stuck between the pressure plate and clutch. This gave similar symptoms, but more dramatic... Sometimes it would drive just fine, others not...a hop skip and a prayer.
oem clutch had 90,000 miles on it. Im sure it was on its way, but what did it was dropping the clutch between gears.
One other symptom I had, was the clutch wouldnt dissengage sometimes. Like id come to a red light, push the pedal down, but I knew it wasnt dissengaging, and it would stall out on me.

Since your fluid level is ok then I would reccommend doing the cheap and easy stuff first... replacing your slave cylinder. Hopefully it isnt your throwout bearing otherwise you might as well replace your clutch

if your car stalls out even if you have the pedal down all the way, then yeah, maybe your clutch isn't disengaging all the way. that could be because the springs that the throw out bearing pushes on are worn out, or maybe you have air pockets in your hydraulic fluid. one guy said that he needed a new clutch slave cylinder. he might have had the same trouble you did and maybe he had an air pocket in the system.
as for your gears getting stuck, it sorta sounds like your gears are temporarily welding themselves to the shaft or other components. this normally happens when the tranny fluid is flat out not there. but you have tranny fluid and its apparently clean. interesting...
