Default 95 GSR B18C dizzy help

Whaddup y'all. So I need some help with the distributor on my 95 GSR with an OBD1 VTEC B18C. My car recently threw a code 8, which I know is the TDC sensor. I looked up a new dizzy for my car and bought a TD64U, which is an OBD1. Upon installing into my motor I noticed the electrical pins don't match up, realizing the motor has an OBD2 dizzy connector, so I looked at the model number of the original dizzy and it's the TD84U. So does that mean I need to run an OBD2 dizzy on my motor, or can I just use an OBD1-2 adapter with the dizzy I bought?

I appreciate any and all help.

Some 95's are "partially" obd2 compliant. So I would say get the one that matches the harness. Replace the one that you pulled off.

There's a way to depin the obd2 connector to make it work with an obd1 set up and vice versa. I've got dizzy parts if you need an obd2 connector. Or you can steal the one off you bad dizzy. I'd also hang on to the old one for parts because they are rebuildable..

Yes, there is, but why do something that's not necessary? The proper one for it is readily available.

Assuming you can get a refund the obd1 dizzy, yes return it and get an obd2 one. If you're stuck with the obd1 dizzy you can depin it or get the adapter.
