re: Diagnostic Issue: VTEC will not engage using Web Camshafts *SOLVED*

I would inspect the rocker arms very closely looking for any kind of damage or dirt as well as the VTEC pins and springs and well the whole rocker assembly.

I have had a similar issue with VTEC...

Re: D15b2+Z6 Distributor Timing / Ignition timing Questions

Use a Y7/Y8 cam gear, install it, time it like a Y7 or Y8, use the TDC marks on the cam gear.

Crank @ TDC, cam gear @ TDC, belt on. You are over complicating things.

If you have an adjustable...

Re: Another EF after a few years

Just jack up the front end of the car so both the wheels are in the air, and try to shake the wheel+tire or move it.

Give it a shake from 12 to 6, and from 3 to 9. There should be ZERO movement in...

Re: Another EF after a few years

Vibrations that get worse at low speed are typically bent wheels, failing rubber/tires, and when it happens a lot when turning wheels back and forth, check for loose components or heavily worn...

Re: speedo cable replacement

Connecting it to the engine might not go over so well. You might want to give hooking it up to the transmission a try instead.

Re: My 1991 Civic DX build/progress

I know it sounds a bit silly, but think about finding a seat that keeps you in place when turning. You will use so much energy just keeping yourself in place, you might even find bruises on your...

Re: Tach Related Question

You need to tell aftermarket tachs how many cylinders your engine has so its displays the correct RPM.

I have a feeling that is what you are getting at. Your question is a little strange and vague.

Re: Both reverse lights not working I have a Honda Civic 1990/91 1400 -

Check every fuse in the car, because its free and takes no time.

Replace both bulbs. If that doesnt do it, the switch is threaded into the transmission. Disconnect it, jump the terminals and see...

Re: Fuel pump terminal covers question

A picture would help, but as long as the wires or terminals do not touch each other, it will be OK.

The fuel will not conduct 12v, so its fine to leave the terminals exposed, as long as they cant...

Re: Showing off my baby... what do you think? (pics)

Nice car man. Makes me wish I took better care of mine over the years.

Takes a special person to drive the same EF for over 10 years, there cant be many of us. :)

Re: Terance's 600hp Street/Track Build

Shielded wire is very important to ensuring the car runs properly. I have a feeling the shielding or grounding might be suspect in that harness if your issues started right after it was installed.

Re: LED taillights

Would love to see those in the car, would look very nice on a race car type setup with a chopped out rear bumper.

Re: Cleaning burned oil residue from white EF

Go buy some Spray Nine. Spray it on a rag then wipe stain and rinse away. If its really really bad, you can spray it on the stain, but you might get spotting so be careful!

Shit is a boss,...

Re: dylspil's SiR EF8 CRX build thread

Is that a solder only connector? There should be terminal options you can crimp, like OEM connectors. Lots of soldering that way! But the same result. Nice.

The ECT sensor uses the same connector...

Re: Opinions Wanted: Pros/Cons of F22B Turbo vs B18B Turbo. Please discuss.

F22 is the best, ever, at everything. The balance shafts help keep the Ying close to the Yang, and forever happy engine balance. No question, B18T.

Looks like the mosquito's are coming out...

Re: 91 Civic Si Track Build - B18C-R|EF9 SIR Converted

Very nice. Cant go wrong with a K20A2 in an EF. How did the hood clearance and ground clearance battle go? Does the hood close fully? I see some clearancing done there on the webbing.

You dont need to drop the tank to replace or remove the sending unit. Only the fuel pump. The sending unit has an access hatch you can get to from under the...

Re: '90 hatchback rain water leaking in driver's side - where??

From my experiences, after you make sure the grommets in the cowl are good, its usually the windshield's urethane that has come up or separated.

If you have fender liners in the car it shouldnt...

Re: 91 Auto Ef sedan to 91 Manual Ef Hatch Cluster

If you used a 90 to 91 cluster, its plug and play. All lights should work. Chances are someone pulled out the bulbs to use for another gauge cluster when it was out. Thankfully you should be able...

Hmmm, I know it does offer ELD control, but IIRC that is only during deceleration in gear.
