Re: Car starts then dies sometimes

GhostAccord, you still in NB, Canada. I've seen you around for a long long time. I think you had a cd5 project? cheers! (I'm in NS).

I'd start by fixing the codes.

Re: Won't down shift

Gotchya. But there's physically no difference in the movement here. If it goes in gear from 3rd, should go in from 5th. The physical "going into 4th" does work. Otherwise we could say shifter is...

Re: Won't down shift

Depends if it's the gear or the synchro or both. But any grinding noises imply a synchro ("if history has taught us anything..). Coming from 5th to 4th is faster speed transistion for the synchro...

Re: 96 Accord (V6) engine "lugging"

I watched the video. wow, may be hard to troubleshoot this. It looks like whatever is causing the check engine light to come on also causes the engine to "dip". Not sure if the engine dip is bc of...

Re: Won't down shift

Bad synchro. Not that letting off pressure and trying again is the trick, it's that you're waiting, which is allowing the gear and syncro to spin to the right speed (which allows the gear to slip...

Re: Electrical/ charging issues

Ya.. so either the belt is loose, or a loose connection in wiring on the battery. Is the battery grounded properly?
There's also a voltage regulator which may have failed but doubt it (think it's...

Re: Won't down shift

Like physically? If double clutching does nothing then it's a bad synchronize gear or the gear itself. I'm also assuming you can't go into 4th at all, from any gear. Will it go in 4th at all...

Re: 96 Accord (V6) engine "lugging"

Not clicking that link, but if your engine rpm is dropping to 250-500 then it's going to be a IACV issue at idle. You need to get the check engine code first.

Re: 90 Accord Starts then Dies

Any check engine light? If so, what are the codes?
Does the engine turn over easily with the plugs out? Is there an interference here? (also plugs may tell you why it feels like it's misfiring)...

Re: 02 accord kill switch

Not to be rude, but go buy a manual. You'll need it.

Re: Think I got a blown head gasket

Agreed. Coolant overflowing / boiling in reservoir is a bad sign.

Re: 1991 Accord. Changing drivers seat. What options are there?

If you want heated seats and more comfort get the prelude seats from 95+. The ones that are full back (headrest does not separate). I have these now in my 93 accord and I didn't connect the heat...

Re: I’m new and really just wanting a mentor

Best place to start is the manual. Go buy the Haynes manual etc. and read it from front to back. Then do it again. It's really the best way to start learning and learning properly.

Re: 1991 Accord. Changing drivers seat. What options are there?

Hey

The short answer here is no. There is no direct swap unless you are using the Japan / JDM wagon seat which did have an electric up and down settings + manual controls you described. And most...

Re: Electrical issue need your help

Yep. Wiring harness issue on passenger side, related to that bulb of course. But considering all the other sensors on that side harness also have an issue it means some big clump of wires is getting...

Re: Lsvtec boosted oil issues

Compression numbers vary based on if the engine was hot or cold and and if the test was dry or wet. 170 ish wish warm engine. 150 sounds fine if the engine was cold ish.
Need to perform a leak down...

H22A Turbo - Catch can filling with oil suddenly...

Well, i'm at a lost for answers and figured I'd ask in here before we rip this engine apart. To start, this setup has been running well for 5+ years now. Not a single drop of oil burnt or lost, not a...
