Re: sound like a bad ECU or not? (DIRTYsouthBB6)

No not at all, the recall still applies on safety grounds, and providing it dosn't show on the dealers records as having been done already, they will do it for you and charge Honda direct.

Re: sound like a bad ECU or not? (DIRTYsouthBB6)

This may be a long shot, but have you had the ignition switch recall done on the car by the Honda dealers for free ? A faulty ignition switch could cause what you are experiencing.

Re: Abs light and cel. (Joe...)

All i can think of is you may have dislodged a wire or damaged one of the ABS wheel sensors , while you were lowering the car, really you need to pull the code that will be stored.

Re: Preludes "burn oil in VTEC" ? (GTI_guy)

Should use approx 1 litre of oil every 3000 miles on average, that's normal consumption. but the consumtion rate will increase if you spend a lot of time in vtec.

Re: external clank when engine starts or when it lugs (larrymotormon)

To hazard a guess I think you could have a loose heatshield around the cat, that sometimes makes a clanking noise at certain revs.

Re: Car Trouble... What's a shift solenoid?? Help appreciated! (SubliminalMsger)

I agree with d4krn1t3 the only transmission to use the shift solenoid is the auto and I think they have three shift solenoids, they receive electrical impulse from the ECU which tells the auto when...

Re: Center beam Q's (ernestoG)

As you yourself describe it as a "brace", you know what that means ? I am no expert but I would assume that it's in place to reduce flex and twist from subframe to the front of the car or it wouldn't...

Re: new rear pads and pushing in caliper (blulude92)

Get some brake cleaner and clean as much rust / crap off the piston sides as you can, it will make the piston much easier to turn into the piston seals. Also look around and get the best fitting tool...

Re: H23a1 white smoke (chu77)

Seems like you have a slight seapage of coolant into the cylinder from your head gasket, white smoke is usually an indicator that water is being mixed with the exhaust gases. And as you have a slight...
