Well I could be wrong, but I thought the starter controls cranking, and it seems to not have any trouble in that department.

Well...if you are going with a street cam (Toda Spec A, Skunk2 Stage I, CTR/ITR) then the ITR valve train will be fine. Otherwise companies like Spoon, Toda, and Skunk2 all make quality valve train...

I am going to be installing stage 1 cams, cam gears, and the ITR valve train this Monday. I do not have all the electronic goodies to go with the cams because my first priority was getting the parts...

mmmm...or he could just spend a couple hundred and get a new valvetrain in which case he could rev past 8100 no problem...In face if he has Skunk2 cams odds are he probably has had some valvetrain...
