Changine Redline?
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I did and search and could not find much. I have Skunk2 cams, cam gears, and essentially a type r valvetrain. I would like to raise my redline a bit to take full advantage of the cams. I recently installed a an Apexi V-AFC, but I did not see any way to change the redline. Is there some more electronics I need to get to do this?
Thanks

Re: Changine Redline? (pistol)
If you are electronically proficient, this job is pretty straight forward if you are not obd2...
Just get the chip programmed how you like it from your local shop, and have them install it if you are not. I would recommend, that if you have any doubts, pay the extra $ and have it done by your local tuning shop. I.E. If you have never de-soldered and soldered on a circuit board, then dont attempt to do it yourself.
As long as you are at it, you can have your shop do a bit more with your chip than just change your redline...
Best of luck!

Re: Changine Redline? (Ferrell)
since you have an OBD1 system, you could get something like a hondata s200 for around the same price as getting a new ecu, or reprogramming your ecu. This way you can have it dyno tuned depending on additional mods. What rpm do the skunk cams make power up to?
