Default sick and tired of babying 3rd gear...

Im sick of this crap, why cant I slam third gear anymore? I used to do it perfect all the time, but now when I shift at redline or any rpm to third it wont let me in for like a second. Feels like theres a wall there or somthing, I shift in anyother gear fine, but third is different. I just chaged my fluid 6,000 miles ago. It grinds somtimes to when I force it in, even when the clutch is all the way in? What should I do.

I cant stand it anymore, how much are trannys!

well, it sounds like you let the clutch out before you finish "slamming" and grind the **** out of it everytime so now it's hard for you to get it in gear, i've done it before, mine is actually a little like that, so i stopped "slamming"

Mine did the same thing starting at about 115000 miles. Then a trip to the track with drag radials and boom,no more tranny. Not saying yours is going out but how many miles are on it.Also you might want to look into Syncro Shift. Its really good stuff. Its an additive weve used many times and it almost always helps.

You bent your shift fork and possibly have a fried syncro. There's nothing you can do about it unless you pull the transmission and replace the fork and syncro set. I have no idea why you're slamming the gears around all the time anyway. If it doesn't go, it doesn't go. You forced it one too many times.

I have a similar problem. I had the wall problem before. Now it grinds. 3rd gear grinds when I shift at high RPMs. All the other gears are fine. It shifts fine into 3rd at lower RPMs.

Yeah it sounds like a bad synchro/ bent shift fork.... consider yourself luck though.. DSM shift forks dont bend, they just snap..... Im on tranny #3 in less than 10K miles..
