if i use a hydraulic floor jack under the "factory jack pads", (front of rear wheels and behind front wheels) to raise the car, where would i place the jack stands for support and safety? in the rear i use the floor jack under the crossbeam between the two rear wheels then place the jacks in the factory jack pads. not sure about the front. how do i raise it and where do i place the jacks?

Pick up the front under the center Tow Hook and then place the stands under the jacking points on the sides. The rear can be picked up either under the center of the subframe or under the tow hook-put stands under side jacking points. That is what we do.

Jack the car up by the frame, the car will get the most height this way. Angle the jack so its not in the way for the jackstand to be placed on the pinch weld metal spot.

OTT

If your looking at the jacking points at the front, put the Hydraulic Jack right under the car behind the jacking points where the frame petrudes from the body of the car. Then with the at an angle (not directly facing the car) you can jack the car up and put the axle/Jack-stands at the normal jacking points.

But dont ever put the car on more than 2x axle-stands, if you put it on 4, i.e. completely off the ground then just leaningon the car could cause it to twist enough and fall off of the stands.

Always 'chok' the wheels that are still on the ground and you should put an old wheel under the car to one side just behind the jack stands. If your working under a 1300kg lump of metal balanced on some jack stands you should never take any chances, its your fate your messing with

when your car is on the stands, try rocking it a bit. if it doesn't budge or fall off the stands, you will be fine.
