Default jack stand question...

i just finished changing my oil today and i didn't know where to put the jackstands under my car, so i just put them under those towing hooks on the front...
will that do?

where's the ideal place to put them?

look at that link..

you raise the car w/ a floor jack via the front/off center jacking point on the front of the vehicle and jack stands go where you would place your stock jack/emergency jack.... for the front of the vehicle.. the jack stands would go on those re-inforced jacking points behind the front wheels.. for the rear of the vehicle you would raise it by the rear towing hook w/ your floor jack .. the jack stands would go on the jacking points in front of the rear wheels... make sure the vehicle is secure on the jack stands before gettting under it...

I'm always nervous when jacking up the front under that 1/2 sphere metal piece. It creeks a little as its going up, I always think its gonna crack and kill my radiator and\or motor.

I've been jacking my cars up for years using that point, no problems. If I don't have a floor jack available, and I have to use the scissor jack, and put the jack stands under the point where the control arms connect to the subframe. There's not as much space under the car that way, when changing oil, etc., but for doing brakes and stuff it's fine.
