'97 Accord SE Disable Factory Security System
OK, So the problem was, in fact, a bad starter... In the process of diagnosing the problem, I had to read a lot of wiring diagrams for the starting system and alarm system. I became curious...
I installed an Avital Remote Starter about three years ago in my Accord, but because of the factory security system, I have to unlock the doors with my remote start remote (which sends a disarm signal to the factory alarm) BEFORE starting the car with the remote start, otherwise, as soon as the car starts, the alarm will go off.
I'm sure you can see how impractical it is to unlock your car before starting it up while you're 300 feet away, inside...
So, is there anyway to easily disable the alarm portion of the security system, without actually unplugging the whole system, which would leave me without power door locks and an interior dome light.
Also, while I'm doing the work, I will rewire the factory starter cut-out relay OUT of the factory alarm system for use with the remote starter. This will allow for anti-grind protection, as well as cut-out of the starter when the car is locked with the remote starter.
Also, I think I can wire in the remote starter's LED into the factory SECURITY dash LED, which would make it easier to program the system.
So, in short, can I disable the alarm portion of the security system easily?
Thanks,
Nick

I'm in the process of installing a remote starter. This website suggests there are wires under the passenger seat that can be used to disarm the re-arm the security system.
