Default a little guru help

i have a 96 civic that i bought with an alarm. my problem is that sometimes wen i try to start it i wont even crank. other times it starts great no problems. and it wil always start if i jump the starter. wtf is going on? could it be the alarm system f#$%in my car up or wat? any ideas would help thanx fellas

Could be a ton of different things, but the alarm could be the cause.

Doulbe-check all connections to the starter and ignition. Worst-case scenario, remove the alarm and re-install it. If something's going on, on that end, you're better off with a proper wiring job.

dude my car did the same thing on wednesday. What kind of alarm do you have? The alarm i have has a starter kill and has a mind of it's own sometimes

lol sounds like our alarm system should hook up cuz they both have AI.im not sure what kind of alarm it has i dont know where to check that.do u?

before you start disassembling the alarms, you guys should check the booted connection on your starters. sometimes they can have a bad connection or disconnect completely from hard driving vibrations. its right on the top of the starter, try pushing it in...
