Default Security Alarm

When i bought my prelude it came with an aftermarket security system...thats quite sensitive. Im wondering if it has an immobilizer. Is there a way to tell?

get inside your car and close the doors and arm you alarm and put the key in and try and start it, if you alarm goes off it has the immobilizer

If you turn the key and your car DOESN'T START it has an immobilizer. some cars don't have a starter kill and will start with the alarm going off.

Better way to figure it out:

Open the door with the alarm armed. Let the alarm go off, get in while it's blaring at you, then try to start. If it starts, the alarm's just for irritation value. If it doesn't start, you have either a starter kill or fuel cutoff.
