Default Checking for bent valve

Is it possible to check for a bent valve if the head is off the motor...i know i can do a leakdown test but I have a head thats currently off the motor just wanted to make sure the valves are good. Same question to see if piston rings are bad. I had low compression in one of the cyclinders so I want to make sure its one of those. Thanks for the help.

You can pour liquid down the port.If it leaks past the valve than that's the problem. Many shops have a vacuum tester that will work too. It's a lot harder to tell if it's the rings if your not used to inspecting them.Make sure they are not stuck in the grooves. They shouldn't have any slop up and down in the grooves though.
