Default Removing/installing Engine without Hoist

I know the Civic guys do it like that all the time. Is it possible with Preludes to remove the engine from under the car?

why dont you do the ultra ghetto method. Get a 4X4 (piece of wood, not a truck). Place the 4X4 on the strut towers or somewhere sturdy. Tie a strap or chain to the motor in any given place that will hold, and around the 4x4. take off all motor mounts and rest the engine and trans on the 4x4 via the strap. have two big guys lift it out of the car. SUPER GHETTO. but....iduno...the worst that could happen is someone dies.

I pulled mine a few weeks ago and it was pretty heavy. I used a hoist to get it out and then picked it up to get it down these few steps and yes it was heavy even having myself and 2 ppl. And those 2 ppl were big dudes. Im sure you can do it but it would obviously be a hell of alot easier to use a hoist.

Just go to autozone/advanced/napa and rent a hoist....you'll have to pay full price for it then get a full refund when your done...

Hell the Lowes by my house rents them...

And those civic guys do it all the time because those D series don't weight anything...

do like corvettes do, remove the cross member and drop it out from the bottom of the car, that is if you have a ramp or lift...

You'll need to remove the traction bar. On the K series you have to remove the whole subframe of the rsx and lift the motor into place from the bottom.

I would make it easy on yourself and find a lift.
