Default new alarm... anything i should add

avital 2200 alarm w/dual stage shock

DEI add-on sensors:
digital tilt
glassbreak/audio
dual zone proximity

i think this will be a quality, entry level setup. anyone have any suggestions for anything else that i might NEED?

ok, good call

i have a hatch, would a mercury switch work better for the back glass?

also, what sensor should i use to trip it if someone pulls the door handle while the car is locked?

How much is all of this costing you + installation? I'm looking for a similar setup and was trying to ballpark a price.

Mercury switches work good and are easy to adjust.

For the door handles, momentary switches placed in the door to get hit by the linkage when the handle is pulled work good. Similar to like the nitrous switches to detect full throttle.:

ok, but wouldn't the momentary switch require them to pull the handle all the way?

what about a mercury switch on the linkage?

It depends on how the linkage is set up. See the metal tab that sticks out of the microswitch? If you can get it to hit the end of the tab first, you might be able to use the leverage to your advantage and have a "window" where the switch will go off. The metal is made to flex and will go back to shape if it isn't forced too hard. Does that make sense?

There's already a hatch switch. You just need a hood pin.
