I currently have a 791xv with the dei 515r backup siren with the key. I'm thinkin about adding a 520t back up battery also. Is this overkill? Am I good enough with the backup siren?

Since you have a 2way paging alarm the extra BUB will greatly benefit you. If your battery gets disconnected before the alarm is triggered you will be warned VIA your remote with the BUB installed. Also most alarms are setup with a normally closed kill so if you take power from the alarm, you can start the car. With the BUB installed this will not be the case.

 

No it's not overkill as a battery backup siren and a battery backup module are two different things with two different functions.
