Using crome free 1.4.8 and burn 1, having burn/recall issues
Hey. I have been able to create boost maps and using "Put" option on crome I have seemed to have been able to save the programs on the sst27sf512 chip. I've set up the baud rates etc. properly, and have no connection issues but still can not up load the program from the chip I saved it to using the "Get" option. I'm attempting to check my work by recalling the information I've attempt to save on the chip with no luck. Crome gives me the error message "could not load file" (invalid file).
I've made NA maps, "put" them, and then using same method "get" them and they come up perfectly. Also, using flash and burn, I have set everything based on my 32768 memory properly as far as chip/buffering addressing is concerned. Now I can load the program in Flash and Burn no problem, but even when I try to validate the boost program, it lists that "they do not match".
Now using both these systems together I am loading the boost program up in flash and burn, saving them to a different file name, and than loading them from crome and the program pops up just fine???!? So the issue seems to be crome not being able to "Get" boosted program off the chip for some reason.
If anybody has any reasoning or if they can assure me the boost program is in fact saving properly to to the chip I would be very grateful. I know I could just throw the ecu in my car, and off I go, but I would like to know whats going on here. I've checked pgmfi forums and here, but only found one person having same issue, and its to this day unresolved
thanks in advance, and sorry for long message, but I want to be a descriptive as possible to speed up exact responses.

...I HAVE BURN 1. I need help with that, I don't need to go buy something else. I just spent almost 150 dollers for this POS. I would like to get this thing working or its going back to xenocron.
I have two ecu's anyway, so theres no hassle really
thanks anyway though.

I've always used the Flash&Burn program vs Crome's burning abilities. But all I can guess for your problem is you don't have the "Used for 27SF512" box checked in the Settings->Real Time Programming tab. That would be reading the wrong memory address on the chip. For the Flash&Burn app, you'd have to set it to the right chip, then the starting address to 8000.

I've done all that.
Buffering addresses and chip addresses have been checked a million times as to what the moates site demands. I also do have the right chip selected. 27sf512 are the chips I'm using, so those are the ones selected. The burner has to be junked
I've saved basemaps in flash and burn, and go to verify and everytime it does not verify. Also, I go edit the buffer and it shows as if it was a blank chip. I also do blank check and it confirms its blank for me. Nothing at all is getting burned to chips. I even had a chip burned by my buddy, and when I attempt to read it, it comes empty even though its not empty. I've set my addresses properly for sure.

Have your buddy try your burner on his PC, and try different chips with it. Likewise try his burner on your PC. If you can pinpoint that its the burner, then maybe Moates will exchange it. Sometimes parts do break randomly, so don't get too angry.

yeah, we did try that. His works on my computer no problem. I try mine on his computer/his setup, and it won't work exactly the same.
So it is the burner ffs!.
I'm not gonna get angry, just dissapointed because I need to cancel my dyno apointment. The place is retardibly busy now and is the only place that does it withen 2 hours of me.
ah well. I've learned a crap load of trouble shooting techniques with crome, burn1 and flash and burn, so it wasn't a total loss. I'll probably lose another 20 bucks for shipping/COD/boarder charges though
