Tial Wastegate settings
Hi people,
I have searched the site of tialsports.com but ist a lame site.
i have the 38 mm tial wastegate how can i see wich spring im using ( i bought the Wastegate used ) and the previous owner doenst know.
Available spring pressure: .25Bar (3.63 psi), .4Bar (5.80 psi), .5Bar (7.25 psi), .6Bar (8.70 psi), .7Bar (10.15 psi), .8Bar (11.60psi), .9Bar (13.05 psi), 1.0Bar (14.50 psi) i know that there are these springs.
I have a Manual Boost controller ( Festo Manual Air regulator Valve. ) when i connect it between the top air niple and the niple in the side. shoud i screw the controller almost shut ( minimul air passage ), or shoud i screw it open ( no air restriction maxumum air ). to set the wastegate the the minimum boost ?
Greetz Erwin
ps. sorry for my bad english.

Re: Tial Wastegate settings (toxicshit)
dont open it up all the way.you will boost a crap load.lets say you have a .5 bar(7.25 psi),with a boost controller you cant go below 7.25 psi,you can only make the psi go higher,so if you let maximum air in you will boost whatever your turbo can handle, which your engine probably wont be able to handle.so 7.25 psi is the minumum psi.try closing all the way and see what your boost gauge reads...that should show you what spring you have.also you can open the wg and the spring will have a color.i think these are right but im not sure.... .25bar=yellow,.4bar=red,.6bar=blue ...not sure of the others........hope this helped.....and if im wrong on any of this please correct me
