What are you using to control boost? Are the settings on the EBC (assuming it's an EBC) correct?

That's fairly normal when you hit about twice the stock WG spring setting. Upgrade to a 10 psi spring and you shouln't have the problem

I'm not sure if that's true on a Electronic Boost Controller, EBC, since pressure is added to the top of the wastegate to push down on the diaphram and equalize the pressures in the diaphram.

You are right about that for a Manual boost controller though

Liquidmetal - d/c the boost controlelr and run off wastegate spring. That will eliminate weather or not it's your EBC
