Default Springrate VS Boost controler Question

When you have a wastegate spring rate, say a Tial at 7psi, and you hook up say Blitz SBC-DC boost controler. How mechanically does the mannual/electirc boost controler override the wastegate spring? Thanks.

Default Re: Springrate VS Boost controler Question (TDCImports)

The wastegate opens when the pressurized air from the turbo which is plumbed into the side port of the wastegate overcomes the preload in the wastegate spring. A manual boost controller is a valve placed in the plumbed line between the turbo and the side port of the wastegate. It can bleed off boost pressure so the wastegate sees less than what the turbo is pushing. Or it can act as a check valve that only opens once a certain pressure is reached.
