Re: AZ_CIVIC'S Build, Testing Things, ETC.
Right now my main focus is getting the car running and then tuned, once I get to that point I really need to get it out for some testing before I think of any events. I'm not even sure what events even exist anymore since Covid, seems like the only thing going on was track rentals but now I guess Friday night drags are back and going again.
I've heard rumors that they are going to shut down Wild Horse Pass for good leaving us only Tucson.

Re: AZ_CIVIC'S Build, Testing Things, ETC.
Track closures have been rumored for me as well. There are only 2 dragways and only 1 of them is 1/4 mile. There is a dirt track, well, only 1 that I know of and it is about 5 minutes from me. There are AutoX events I've been eyeballing.. Then, insult to injury, Little Rock police department has announced a MAJOR crackdown on street racers and caravaning. If you're in a rice rocket or otherwise suped-up looking ride and traveling in a group of 3 or more, they're gonna get ya.. Bull... ****...

Fortunately, I live in a deep rural area. There are plenty stretches around for some "streets of Mexico" lol

Re: AZ_CIVIC'S Build, Testing Things, ETC.
So I need a filler neck for my car and the original plan was to use the stock water neck and basically modify it so I can have the radiator cap with a -16 to run a -16 line.
So because I didn't have the motor together in the car I wanted to wait until everything was done and go from there. Long story short I was like screw making one, I will just buy one. So I go on the Speedfactory website and I see one that looks like it is just what I need, the picture below. I was like this has a nice little kick out on it and it should work perfect, well I get my order yesterday and it's that little stubby one that you see on my car LOL. Now I have no idea if Speedfactory screwed up or the picture they have of their product is wrong but I was like F it, I will make it work. The crappy part is the orientation of the nipple because my overflow bottle sits in the rear so I have to now buy a -4 90, my radiator cap doesn't seem to fit, oh and the flange they use is thinner than the stock flange so the stock bolts don't work.
Good thing I noticed that and didn't over tighten the bolts and screw the head casting.

The one in the picture is for a b16 cylinder head. The one you received is for he GSR cylinder head. K-tuned makes one that's pretty nice that works for the GSR head. I have the K-tuned one on my B16 it fits good and you can change the outlets to different sizes.

Re: AZ_CIVIC'S Build, Testing Things, ETC.
I just installed one of those filler necks on my B16 head. That curved neck is so it can go around the dizzy, which looks like in your case isn't an issue. And Speedfactory should really tell you that different bolts are needed. I can see that turning into a real nightmare for someone.

Once I put the filler neck on, my regular radiator cap didn't seem to work on this neck either, so yesterday I go to prime the motor and turn the water pump on and I notice water coming out from the filler neck under the cap. So now I know the cap doesn't seal properly and I call SF and they tell me I need their radiator cap A, another $45 bucks LOL.

Re: AZ_CIVIC'S Build, Testing Things, ETC.
Yeah when you go to the SF website they have B-series filler necks and I saw the curved one so I clicked on it and it gave me options like -16 or 32mm and then GSR or B16 and I selected -16 and GSR thinking they made the curved one for the GSR. I just figured it was made for cars like mine that may not run a distributor and as you can see from my pictures the curved one would have been perfect, away from the up pipe and everything. The stock bolts not fitting was another thing, at least say they won't work anymore or provide 2, for 160 bucks the least you can do is provide a couple bolts LOL.

I've coined a saying though, "If I had a dollar for every mod or upgrade I've purchased that didn't require modification, I wouldn't have a ******* dollar.." lol

It's a bit of a hassle but since I'm basically done and this is all I really need I was like F it.
