Default Anyone before/after with lightened flywheel???

Has anyone done a test with replacing a flywheel with a lightened one and measured the results? I think that may be next for me but I think I might need the momentum of a heavier flywheel to get me off the mark seeing as I only have a B16a.

Comments, questions, queries, concerns????

What kind of results? I did a before-and-after with the lightened, but it didn't make much of a difference (very strange since I upgraded from a fried stock clutch to an ACT HD w/ lightened stock flywheel).

I've noticed that my 60' times have dropped because I can launch higher and get less spin, though.

If you are dopping your 60's you *should* be dropping your ET as well.

I hope to notice a difference when I change mine... any day now.

i have a tiny problem with my CM flywheel...this has nothing to do with drag racing tho

...SOMETIMES my rpms drop past my idle and the motor kills...when im coming to a stop of course...i was told that it has lost the momentum to keep it running like a heavier stock fly would...what do you guys think

oh and the rpms ALWAYS dips too much but it only has died on me about 3 times....keep in mind i hardly drive this car...

My brother has a lightened Stillen Flywheel on his Maxima and his car always seems to have this sorta 'urge' to die if you don't rev it up while sitting at a light.

I have a CM 7.5-8 lbs flywheel on a z6 in a crx and iv only drove it a few times after the swap(not legal). Well after i would take it to redline in 2nd or 3rd then push in the clutch the car would stall (once or twice) or start to stall out. I figured it was something else, but maybe it is the flywheel.

I just ordered a CM lightend flywheel for my B18b1. Any ideas on how much it weighs? Also if this car stalling out is a problem, is it only on engines with low tourqe?

this seems to be a common problem with lightened flywheels. i've witnessed this happen to a few people as well.

We'll see how mine works out even though I expect the same results as the above.

my crx used to run 8.90's with my nonvtec 1.8 stock flywheel weighs 18 lbs
my 60 fts were high 1.90's in the 1/8 mile

all i did was replace the flywheel with a fadanza 8 pounder

now i run low 8.70's in the 1/8 mile
with60fts of low 1.80's

u can feel the difference in the lower gears because the engine is revving much faster there wasnt much difference in like 4th or 5th gear due to the motor not winding out as fast

never had problem ever even with 12.1 compression and a 7 pounder on pump gas in the heat of the day!!!!

but the weight of the stock wheel does keep it moving eiser that is very tru

How are all you guys launching with your lighter flywheels? Cause I just got a CM aluminum flywheel and some Falken Azenis and went out to a lonely road and tried a launch. I slipped from about 3,500 rpm and the clutch and tires grabbed immediately and it almost felt like a bogged. I was surprised. Do I need to slip higher? Or maybe dump?

My 60' time on stock suspension, stock clutch, stock flywheel, and Goodyear Eagle HP's at 20 psi was 2.3 and I slipped from about 2,500 rpm.
