the lighter one is going to help you get back in boost quicker... i have run a 8lb unorthodox racing flywheel in mine for years until i bought my exedy twin disk kit and now i run whatever weight one came with that.

with that power, i would look at a flywheel that is sfi approved. (it is actually manditory at 11.49 secs anyway.)
the exedy flywheel with the twin is actually chromoly. pretty heavy, but i still rock that clutch. (same one for 3 years now)

You were told huh?
Well would it make sense to hear that there is a use for everything, just might not be perfect for every car/set up. where one way have unfavorable results another could have good results.
I have used both aluminum and steel aftermarket flywheels and have liked them in both cars.

Re: aluminum or stock flywheel
go with a stock one.. or as boostedcivicsir said a sfi approved... still heavy but nothing like a aluminum one. a heavier fly wheel will help keep better load on the car. a lighten one will let you rev quicker with pushing clutch in the clutch and will have easier rotation of motor sometimes letting it shut off when coming to a stop .. as with a stock one it will keep its rotation and not die down as fast. keeping the car in higher rpms. if going all motor i'd say put a light one in.. for boost your better with stock.
