Default Anyone have any experience with Scat rods?

We just ordered a set for a sohc shortblock Im about to build. Apparently these are on the same level as the Eagle rods. Both use the ARP hardware and use the H beam design.
Just wondering if anyone has used these yet and how they like them.

If they are as good as the domestic stuff they produce they should get at least a or two.

That's precisely why I would never own anything with a brand name of "Scat". What were their marketing guys thinking? Yick...

They are much better than eagles. They come with the 3/8 ARP 2000 bolt which I believe is the same size as the manley rods. They are also a lot beefier around the bolt area.

Ok, well here is the low down. To begin with, our distributor told us that there was a recall on the D series Eagle rods.
I just got off the phone with Eagle. I wanted to call to check the validity of what I was told and apparently there was a recall of about 35 sets of rods back on November. They said they have received all of them back and there shouldn't be any out on the market as of today. So I think our distributor was bullshitting us and sent us a set of rods they wanted to get rid of.
On a side note. I asked the tech at Eagle if these rods were comparable to theirs. What he said is that some of the V8 guys have been unhappy with them. He told me to check the weight of each rod, make sure they have ARP hardware (which I believe they do) and to check the big side for being out of round. Hmm, if any of that isn't on par then to me the rods are ****.....I hope we don't need to send them back.

To leave on a good note. All B series VTEC Eagle rods will now come standard with the larger "Custom Age" 3/8" ARP fasteners. The best part about it is they will come to us in this new design at no additional charge!!! So check with your dealers to make sure you are getting these instead of the old 5/16" fasteners.

not sure about honda applications, but I doubt their name would hold me up if they make a quality product.
