Default Oil pressure sender need to be grounded?

Howdy... I moved my oil pressure sensor to a tee on the firewall. I noticed today my light flickered once or twice as I was driving (not turning) even though I just put almost 5 quarts of fresh new oil in it a mere hour ago when I changed my oil.

Wow sorry for the runon. Do I need to ground the sender at all?

here is a picture of what i mean.

no you dont need the sender. but its good to know if your ever out of oil. if you have a oil pressure gauge you can lose the pressure switch if you want, nothing will happen. just you wont have an oil light anymore. it doesnt interfear with the ecu.

Can I just put a washer in between the sender and tee, solder a wire onto it, and ground it on the body?
