removing throttle position sensor
how do you remove it? i have a d16a6 off of a 90 crx si. the two screws on the sides of the TPS doesnt have a hole for a screwdriver nor a hex shaped head.
also, when you install a new TPS, do you have to readjust it?
thanks

get a dremel or other cutting tool, even a drill will work, cut a groove into the heads and the rivets are actually screws they just unscrew.super easy just be careful the TPS breaks easily if you are rough.
yah break it with a hammer real smart idea.
Use a dremel or something to cut a slot in the center of those round headed things. They are actually screws and will just unscrew once you cut the slot for the screwdriver. make sure you cut the groove deep though or else you will not be able to get enough of the screwdriver tip in it to get the screw loose.

If its one a good throttle body don't take it off...
Just take off the entire throttle body as one peice..
'then you won't have to adjust it when you put it back on.. (SO yes it does have to be adjusted if you take it off..)

alright, thanks everyone for your help. i used a hacksaw to cut a slot, and i got the TPS off. only thing was, while transferring the TPS to the other throttle body, the gasket broke off. i called honda to see if they sold that gasket, but they only sell it with the throttle body and TPS all as one piece. well i got it all back together for now since i need to drive around, but the idle fluctuates a little bit, about +-200 rpms. would the missing gasket be the cause of this? how can i make a gasket for the tps?
thanks
p.s. - the throttle body i bought didnt come with a TPS so thats why im transferring the TPS.
p.p.s. - when i first put the throttle body on, i adjusted idle by the idle screw, but now its back up around 1100 rpms. is the idle screw the right way to adjust idle?
thanks

did you make sure when you put the sensor back on it was adjusted right? you know it can be moved back and forth and when you push the throttle it could have some play or it could have the sensor opened a little already....its hard to explain easier if i take pic sbut im to lazy haha. if you dont have the sensore adjusted right you cant open your car to full throttle and if its set to far forward it willl read as the throttle being open some already....understand?

i think i adjusted it right. basically i kept the two screws loose, then started the car. it was revving really high around 4K, so i turned the TPS all the way til the idle went to about 800rpms, then i adjusted the idle screw to about 700 rpms. id rather have idle right then not being able to open the throttle all the way.
but still - is that gasket necessary? is that whats causing the idle fluctuation?
