List of problems after swap
Alright, put a GSR into my 95 EX. Still having a lot of problems with it. Here's a list of what I've noticed after one night of driving it.
- Heat doesn't work. Turn the fan to 4, nothing.
- Check engine light. Tried jumping the pins to read the code, light just stays solid.
- Car idles at 200 RPM all the time. When its real cold, it idled at like 500.
- Tach and speedo needle jumps. Shift lite also comes out and random times, usually during WOT.
- And the worst, when full throttle, car will accelerate just fine sometimes, but other times, it'll backfire and make the sound like you hit the rev limiter. Check engine light will turn off, then come back on. Happens any time during the RPM band.
If anybody has some suggestions on what to check, let me know. I'm sure we all know the feeling when something doesn't work on your car and you want it fixed. Thanks all.

Check engine light you just need to read the code then see what it is.
the low idle can be adjusted with a flat head screw driver on your throttle body. turn the screw counter clockwise to the idle you like.
tach is prolly your distributor. check the conections on the tach.
the heater im not to sure.

Start with the CEL. If it's on, but not blinking when you jump it, I'm guessing you're not jumping it right.
Personally, I wouldn't even worry about anything else until you get that fixed. And I sure as hell wouldn't be running it WOT...

UPDATE:
Alright, thanks everybody for the help. My car is almost done now.
- Heater didn't work because the fuse blew - doh!
- I wasnt jumping the check engine light correctly, did it right, got the codes
- As for the tach, I removed all the stupid wiring I had for neon lights and other ****, and rewired my shift light, just to make sure all the connections were good. Problem solved now.
- Idle was low because I had the connectors for the Intake Air Temperture and Idle Air Control reversed.
Still getting a code for the Intake Air Temperture. Check the helms manual and the colors are correct for that sensor. Going to need a multimeter to continue on the flow chart. Any other ideas?
