Default Searched found not too much help, stock internals/max boost question.

95 LS, Stock internals, I/H/E, Fuel Rail, B&M FPR, MSD SCI. Did compresson check and got between 185-195. Motor has 120k miles, and was owned previously by an elderly(55) gentlemen. I run 93 octane gas always, and use Havoline Synthetic 10w30. Is it a fair assumption that the motor should be able to handle 6psi, without the chance of a catastrophe? I looked through the archives, and most people didn't give specifics on their engine, as I have described, and were told that this information would be important to get a somewhat accurate answer. If any of you can give me some information, it would be greatly appreciated. HT has helped me a lot lately. I'm hoping to keep that trend going ....

Oh, you should be good up to 32psi. As soon as you do that, let me know the outcome! I guarantee at least 400hp for like 1.5 seconds, anything after that I can't be held liable for...

i have hard 14 psi. its more about how much hp youre putting down. i have heard about 200whp for a d series, so im guessing 250-270whp for a b.
Either way, just build up a block, itll really let you take advantage of your setup.

I have heard that the ls can handle, on AVERAGE, 300whp max on stock internals...but people can push more than that safely, but then again, the more you're pushin, the more reliability becomes an issue..so if your 6 psi is gonna be less than that (which will more than likely be so), then I think you should be fine. I'm boostin my b18b soon and I pretty much have the same stuff you have on my engine, both compression test and mileage...and I'm hopin to boost about 8 psi with hondata. Let me know how your setup goes.

Within the next month, I hope to have the turbo components all here, ready to put on, and get boosted. Going to run at 6psi, and eventually go to 8. I don't think I will push anymore then that for a while. Would like to find another motor for cheap and start building it to handle higher boost w/o fear. HT is the best thing ever. Any problem that I can't figure out, I can just search, and within 10 minutes find the answer... It rocks.

youre safe on 10-12psi with stock internals, btw our motors can potentially handle 300whp, but that doesnt mean daily driven
