Default polyurethane engine mounts

i have a set of engine mounts, and they were too soft for my liking so i pulled them apart today to see about getting some others and i found that the 2 polyurethane sections, i can't even call them halves, didn't meet in the center, and there is about 1" gap in between the 2 sections

so now i really need to do something. but they're 2 sections so i was going to get them made in a harder polyurethane and then stick those in, but my question is on the size of them

whats the rule of thumb on the diameter of the poly, as compared to the diameter of the mount, and the difference to make the interference fit

i have 60A in there now, and they're holding up an H22, and innovative recommends 75A since the H is so heavy, so i'm thinking maybe the 75s or even the 85s, or 85 on the rear mount, and 75s on the side since i can mix and match them anyways

and also, i'm not sure where to get the polyurethane from. what i figure is get it in the logs that i've seen before, and have them turned down on a lathe to the proper dimensions

any thoughts?

thanks

why don't you get innovative to put in new bushings...it'd be alot easier.

wow that's shitty... I would just epoxy one side in, then fill them in with some polyurethane (you can make your own right as far as I recall) and put in the other bushing. Adding in the middle layer would help alot.

this is an H22 in a 90 prelude, innovative doesn't make anything for it, neither does hasport, neither does any other company halfway worth a crap

and the epoxy would work, but i'd prefer to keep with just straight polyurethane and not have to worry about anything once i get it in

I just meant to use epoxy to hold one side in and I belive you can get polyuthane that you can mix and pour in there. Then press the other side on.

I used mcmastercarr as well, but I no longer have the link, just do a search on their site, its super easy to navigate....A few pointers when using that ****....make sure you have the bottom side sealed up really good. if there is even a small spot for it to leak out, it will...do it outside because it smells awful...I only got one set out of mine, but I also had some leak out....dont get it too hard, because it will make your car rattle/buzz

I think the hasport inserts are longer you might want to call them up and see if they will fit. They run around $100 for a set with the pins but you can get what ever stiffness you want and they might do the job.

I modified some 3rd gen accord Place Racing mounts with the hasport inserts http://www.3geez.com/forum/sr_classi...p?do=ad&id=584 you can see what im talking about in my link.

The PRI mounts were a hair larger so i sleeved my mounts with some exhaust tubing and it worked like a charm. Hope this helps!
