Default here is an answer to all those "where to get solid engine mounts" posts

over the last year or two we have been working with Avid on a number of different things and have constantly been suggesting a solid engine mount set. aside from making my own, (timing consuming and a pain in the ***) nobody makes solid mounts (i believe there is another company making a solid rear mount now, but not a complete mount set)

with the amount of power a lot of us are making now, solid engine mounts are almost a must. in the last season alone i have seen several mount failures from several different mount manufacturers. also, ive noticed there are a lot of people who are making a lot of power now that are starting to have problems shifting, which is a lot of the time a result of engine movement as well.

i have done a lot of different testing on my car with engine mounts from mount inserts, hasport mounts, inline mounts, avid mounts, my own mounts etc. saying solid engine mounts is a night and day difference is an understatement, and that was with solid upper mounts, not even a solid rear mount yet.

a lot of people are now starting to run straight cut gear sets, shifters such as the long and g-force that REQUIRE solid engine mounts. mounting the shifter and making the linkages is a long enough project, being able to drop in a set of mounts would save a lot of time on making the install complete.

the solid engine mounts will stop all engine movement, help with wheel hop, GREATLY improve shifter feel, etc. all mounts come with limited lifetime warranty, hardware, instruction manual etc.

Quoted from avid racing:

"Everyone knows that in drag racing, little to no engine movement is optimal. Thanks to Avid Racing, the long awaited Pro-Series mounts have arrived. These are CNC'd from Alcoa 6061 T-6 billet aluminum, come the utmost in quality, durability and performance. These mounts are one piece solid engine mounts. These are 100% Aluminum minus the steel insert for the through-bolt, they don't use any polyurethane inserts as to our street kits. These mounts are designed for the pro-racers to the all out sportsman classes."

so.... i will be installing these mounts on a SPFWD car we are building right now for a customer. as of monday the car was bare bones with nothing but a longblock bolted in place and a cage so it will probably be a while before we get to do some testing with the mounts. i will obviously post back with results from that. however i will post back sometime tomarrow afternoon with updates on the install along with some more pictures to my knowledge there will be a couple spfwd cars at englishtown this weekend who are also doing some testing on the mounts, i imagine they will chime in as well.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THESE MOUNTS PLEASE PM ME, AND DON'T CLUTTER THIS THREAD. THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD
back with updates tomarrow

nope, solid engine mounts will help with longevity of parts. all that harsh movement from the engine rocking back and forth and wheel hopping etc can kill parts quickly. especially how quick honda gears strip if you happen to miss a gear from the engine moving around, or under load in high gear the engine moving trying to pull the trans out of gear.

Damn, how do they expect the rear T bracket to bolt on if you can't sway the motor to actually bolt it in. lolz

I figured solid front and rear mounts would've been enough.

as of right now i beleive the b mounts are the only solid ones available at this moment, i could be wrong though.

if you are creative and install the mounts in the right order, its not a big deal. now i obviously havnt installed the solid avid mounts yet but have installed and made solid mounts on several cars....its not that bad.

i would imagine if the mounts sell well they will have them for numerous applications. every car i know of right now that is testing them is a EG B-series. im sure once they receive feed back from the testers they can start expanding the new line of mounts

This is pretty sweet. Avid kinda put a bad taste in my mouth with their EK mount kit, but this is a great idea.

I have all solid mounts on my car side and rear and it is not hard at all to get all the bolts in.

Talked to Franklin about these also a few weeks ago. He said hush hush on it hehe until they are out and ready. Bunch of people already filled the first batch, hope we get our sets soon so we can stock these all the time.
