stainless mig ?

BTW that piece of the sched 40 is trippin me out. in a way it looks like you just welded on a straight piece of pipe, however both sides are bezeled,, and the dman thing is so flat, i got one of my manifolds like that, very flat weld, i didnt use any filler though it was one of my first manifolds. im curious if you used any filler in that piece?

Sup guys, I am planning to start tigging. I am dedecent with using a mig welder already. The question is that I only have a 115 volt output in my garage, is there a tig welder that would work good using only 115? I will be workin on making headers, intercooler piping, some alumnium, and roll cages when i get good. Thanks

The TIG machines that will run on 110v are inverter-based (Miller Maxstar, Lincoln Invertec, etc). You'll probably have to spend at least a grand to get one. That technology is relatively new, so it's not that common to find used inverter-based machines.

You can pick up and older transformer based machine (Lincoln Idealarc, Miller Dialarc, etc) for cheap, but they require 220v. My Dialarc HF required me to wire in a dedicated 220v 80amp line.

Are those machines any good, like for a turbo manifold or like sch. 40 welded to 1/2 inch flanges ect. you think it will be enough or will i run into a lack of power

maxstar sth
70 A at 22.8 VDC(Stick), 115 VAC
100 A at 14.0 VDC(TIG), 115 VAC
sound ok??
