Default FREEZER to oven conversion build

Ive grown out of my regular oven so im building a new bigger one, ill post pics of my build and some details...

Find a freezer for cheap, Easiest is a single door erect (giggidy) one so you dont have to deal with making it one door. But whatevers free or cheapest, dont take much to make it one door!!

Take the compressor and electronics out first, be careful and responsible when removing the refridgerent!
Then remove the plastic or steel inside. Steel is kind of a bitch i used a sawzall and cut the blade so its about 2.5 inches long!!

Then remove all the insulation because it is flammable, and all of the foam inside. This is a task here. Best bet is using heavy duty scrapper.. If careful you can use a air hammer with wide chisel on it!! have at it im still not done and i have 3 hours in it!!

waiting for my Sheetmetal to get shipped to my local hvac company.. Dont freak its reasonable priced ,21 dollars a 4x8 sheet.. all i need is 3 sheets and some 8ft metal drywall studs these priced at 4 dollars i need 4..

will post more pics and details ASAP

Me too.

op,
Are you going to cut the original door and insert a glass(tempered I would assume) window so you can see? Are there going to be any insulation properties in the freezer/new oven so this thing does not radiate huge amounts of heat? Will it hold up to the heat?

Keep us posted on the build

FYI mcmaster.com sells ceramic insulation for fairly cheap. I got a large boxed roll of it for ~$35, and it can take up to 1800F, and only glows when in a butane flame. 2 plys of it (1" total) over a HOT turbo is about 90F on the outside. My infrared thermometer reads the housing at 750F, so it works very well. I'd guess it would be more than enough for that, and you could save some time by leaving some foam inside.

This would make a nice power coating oven for me. Do you plan to leave it vertical or lay it on it's back?
