I haven't worked on a Honda in a long time, and that was never the point. I came as this is one amazing collection of good fab/welding guys, and most willing to lend a hand.

I read all of Weirtechs FB updates. Exited to see yours.
Please understand the reason that the threads in question were closed. They have been re opened in an effort to come to a reasonable solution. This was nothing personal.
As far as me not being a mod in this section, you're correct. I am however a site administrator, which by default makes me a site mod in every section.

This forum is the property of internet brands. They are in the business of selling forum advertising - at a *very* premium price for the medium. If their paying client reports a thread to be an ad, whether it is or isn't, who do you think they are going to side with? It would be bad business to ignore a paying customer's complaint.
Now on the other hand - forums require content - lots of it, preferably from 3rd parties that did not cost them anything. So if shop owners didn't post their projects and their work, nobody would read this forum anyway and nobody would want to advertise - at least not specifically for this forum. Thus you get the current state of things.
The best solution would be to reduce forum advertising rates - specifically just for this forum, to a more reasonable rate that shops could afford without breaking their marketing budget (how many fab shops even have marketing budgets??) so they could continue to show off their work without being violated!

My threads got locked up on many forums in the past and I simply bought an advertising account. I looked into it for this site and it was just impossible for me.
I think pricing should be adjusted since things have changed a lot in the last 10 years. People are not buying parts like they used to, the advertising costs here just cannot be made back by exposure alone.
It's always really bothered me when really good threads get locked for this reason. I totally understand blatant selling threads, but the ones that people come in to see every day are what make this section so inviting to outsiders. Most of the people who post in this section are not even Honda guys and just show their work for the simple love of the craft.
Guys,
I am so sorry that this happened and I was not here to stop this. I was gone because of work so it could not be helped. If there are threads that are still closed, let me know. You all know that I do not allow you all to prices or advertise but I allow a lot of posts that some people may perceive as advertising even though it isn't. I really don't want to lose you guys. You all give so much to the users and your advice is sought out by anyone that is trying to learn. We need you all here. Please don't leave.

For the rest of you that weren't directly involved, I will offer this. Everyone here should be aware of the post reporting system, and we received a few complaints about this forum. Locking those threads was not something I wanted to do, but I don't really have much of a choice when I get complaints from paying vendors. However, there has to be some grey area for folks that are manufacturing parts, but not really using this site to sell them. I do understand that people are simply showing off their work, and coming from someone who has spent near to 20 years welding and fabricating, there are some great examples of great work in here, including the 2 gents whose threads I closed. I am currently working on a solution that will allow people to showcase their work as businesses without paying the same price as people who are making sales on the site. It's simply not fair for someone who just owns a business and wants to showcase their talents to have to pay the same rate as someone who is selling parts and making profit from our userbase.
To everyone who has contributed thus far, please accept my apologies, and rest assured we are working at a conclusion that will work well for everyone. This really was not a personal thing.

So what conclusion did you guys come to for this forum?
The two people who had their threads closed have received an apology, and an explanation.
