1998 Honda Civic EX-R ITR swap | track and mountain pass ready very nice build
Selling my 98 Civic Coupe. This car was put together with great attention to detail and buying only quality parts. Every bushing, suspension component, and most of the braking system is brand new. The engine is super healthy and the transmission shifts smooth. I use Pennzoil synthetic motor oil and Motul competition FF gear oil in the transmission. The engine hums when at idle and cruising. Its screams a smooth symphony at WOT. This car made 184whp on a dynojet on 93 octane no cool down time. (Link to dyno pull below) That's on a stock JDM P73 ecu. This thing will pick up some super nice power with a Hondata and a proper tune.
There are a few small cosmetic flaws. The rear bumper has a crack in it. The car was repainted. Its pretty decent, but has some imperfections. It is way better than most civics this age and waaayyy better than most cars this age which still have original paint. The headliner shows its age but isnt hanging down. The sunroof slider is missing its fabric cover. I had planned to do a sunroof delete but didnt get to it. There is nothing in the trunk and I removed the carpet in the car. That's really I can point off the top of my head. Very insignificant but I like to mention to be as forward as possible and give the potential buyer a good mental image of the car overall.
I drive the car a few times a week. Its drives great isnt to loud and quite tame just cruising. The car does have a race spec LSD in the transmission. Its not like the OEM LSD. Its does a much better job at distributing power to both wheel but when not under full load like turning at low speeds and barely on throttle it does click. You can both hear it and feel in. It is not subtle, you will know there is a proper race LSD in the transmission. You can learn to drive it to reduce how often it happens.
This car is very fun to drive. It handles and brakes absolutely amazing. It's hard to find well built civics for a fair price or find one period.
****The steering rack has been modified with an Integra pinion gear to reduce the amount of wheel input needed to turn the car.
****the car had power steering and AC with this swap. I removed it, but still have all the parts which will be included with the sale.
