Default Shift rod problem

I finally got around to installing my shifter linkage in my car and noticed something isn't right. When the trans is in neutral the shifter is leaning towards the left. Almost so I can just move the shifter directly up to put in 1st and directly down to put in 2nd.

The trans is a dohc zc and it's in my 88 crx. I tore the trans down, replaced all the bearings and seals and installed an mfactory lsd. I can shift through 5 gears and reverse.

I don't have any pictures of mine at the moment but my problem looks just like this guys.

There never was a follow up and he hasn't been on here since January.

Anyone ever run into this problem? Is it just a bent shift rod and replacing it is all that needs to be done? Was it a problem with the rebuild? I just want to make sure I have all the parts I need before I pull the trans and tear it down.

Well if anyone cares I fixed the problem. I had the spring hat by the reverse lock out cam installed upside down. Flipped it over and everything is fixed.
