Shift linkage problem

Default Shift linkage problem

I have a 94 Civic with a B18 swap, i was driving to work tonight and my shifter is was fine till i got to work. i passed over a speed bump and i shift in to 1st but i could not get to lock. the shifter was all lose. what can it be?

you might want to jack the car up and make sure everything on the linkage is still connected all the bolts and the part that goes into the tranny (not sure what it is called).

yescheck the linkage under the car..check the cable by moving it back and forth..
honda trannys are known to give this problem of not always going into first..
if it happened again just go into 2nd first then try puttin gin 1st

thanks. found the problem it was a plate that holds the ball in the bottom of the shifter.
