Distributor problem!
I am new to all this car thing, and the other day my friend took out my distributor because my timming was off and ever since than my car won't start. I am pretty sure my battery is running low because I keep trying to start my car. he also took out the wires that is connected to the distributor to the headers and I am wondering is there a specific way to connect. I don't want to risk me messing up my car so i have the ditributor connect but not the wires connecting to the header. can someone show me how the order is to connect the wires. I got a 94 eg civic coupe single v tec.
Err... I don't know how you have confused this problem with anything regarding Transmission and Drivetrain, but I'll help a bit at least before it hopefully gets moved.
What timing was off? Ignition timing or mechanical engine timing (i.e. timing belt and cam/crank positions). If it was ignition timing, the distributor didn't have to come out. Just loosened up and moved, but you need a timing light to do correctly, and it doesn't sound like you guys have one.
What wires are connected to the header? There shouldn't be any distributor or ignition wiring going to any exhaust component. Do you mean the O2 sensor???
It's possible your friend put (and by put, I mean 'forced') the distributor back in 180-degrees off, which will definitely not let your engine start. If he did this, chances are he damaged the distributor and/or the camshaft.
